Technical Information and Artwork Guidelines

Beken of Cowes sailing calendars are printed on high-quality 200gsm gloss paper at A2 size (60×42cm) and weigh approximately 750g each. The Yachting calendar, Tall Ships Calendar, and Classic calendars are in a ‘portrait’ orientation, whilst the Sailing Action calendar is ‘landscape’. We can also supply calendar envelopes (61×43cm) or cardboard mailing tubes.

The calendars are wire-bound, but can also be supplied plano (in sheet form) for promotional customers who wish to arrange their own personalisation or customisation.

If you wish us to ‘overprint’ your calendars with your name, logo, or advertising message, (see our Printing Options page) the following artwork guidelines apply:

Size

The maximum promotional print area on the Yachting calendar, Tall Ships calendar and Classic calendar is 150×150mm. On the Sailing Action calendar it is 120×120mm.

Resolution & Format

Artwork should be supplied at a resolution of no less than 300dpi at actual size. We can accept files of up to 5Mb by e-mail, otherwise on CD-ROM, DVD, or memory card. Acceptable file formats are .jpg, .eps, .pdf, .bmp, or .tif and should be in a CMYK profile. If a CMYK profile is not set, our printer will obtain the closest match.

There will be no set-up charge associated with artwork that meets the above criteria, but our in-house artworking department will be happy to quote for any work necessary to meet your particular requirements.
